Blue Holbox Beach Front

My Blue Hotel is an excellent place to stay on Holbox. It's about a 15 minute walk to the town on the island, or if you're lazy you can just get an ATV taxi there or to the port. Shower and bathroom great, has two pools (although one was being hastily repaired after Hurricane Milton). Staff are friendly. Stayed here as part of Intro Travel tour of Mexico. The only thing it could do with is a better sign out front than the one facing the hotel and not the dirt road/beach. Walked past this place one night on the way back to town. You're going to need a torch by the way as there aren't really any street lights, to avoid the puddles and potholes full of water.

If you are looking for the best beach front view on the Holbox Island, this is the place to stay! Be sure to book front bungalows and upgrade to second floor and you will love every second of this incredible view. Enjoy!

Blue Holbox is located close to the northern edge- it is about a 20 minute walk from the center of town. My boyfriend and I examined three of the beachfront rooms. Two out of the three rooms were dirty with cockroaches hiding under the pillow and dirt on the sheets. This is understandable given the location, but we would have liked if the rooms were inspected and cleaned properly before we visited. The most irritating part was when we went to pay, Blue Holbox has an arbitrary currency transaction amount. So for instance, we were paying with dollars and they charged us 18.5 pesos per dollar (even though the official rate is 17 pesos per dollars). This is a sneaky way to earn a bit more money and we were shocked at the actions. Apparently the owner will text the currency rate of the day to the staff in the morning and that’s how much they will charge you. This makes it hard to anticipate how much money you will be spending. The breakfast was also very lackluster (potatoes, powdered eggs and lukewarm pancakes) and the hotel staff definitely looked like they had better things to be doing than to be waiting on customers. Even though the location was beautiful, we felt like the atmosphere was far from welcoming and we felt uncomfortable. We would not come again and we encourage others to search for other, more hospitable and sanitary locations to stay in Holbox.

I stayed at My Blue Holbox very next to Blue hotel. it was a great experience. It's a brand new hotel and all the rooms are modern and very confortable with big TV screen with good internet for some streaming at bed time. We stayed at the master suite 312 and 310 next to it! Perfect decoration and with a huge varanda with amazing beach and ocean view. The hotel has 2 pools and the food is great, had lunch and everyday delicious guacamole. The service was fantastic at the beach and pool. Location is amazing, walking distance to the center of Holbox! I will definitely come back! Congrats for the whole team, My Blue it's already a reference in Holbox👏👏

Great place to stay value for money great! Breakfast fantastic in front of sea. Room are nice bathrooms are a little bit basic but still ok. You should go !! Good place for the money…holbox is fantastic experience!!! Go there and rent a bike or golf cart!!

We stayed at MY Blue not to be confused with Blue holbox next door (which has same management but it's more hostel than hotel). It was lovely! We stayed ocean front in two rooms. I was so so so apprehensive because there aren't good photos online. If you need to get a feel, go to their Insta page... The pool has the best view of the beach on the island. The rooms are really minimalist and un-Mexico, kinda more Ikea, but don't let that deter you. It was better than we expected. Breakfast was absolutely fine! Ignore the bad reviews. Most importantly, best beach to be at, especially when there is sargassum on the island. Gentlemen at the front desk was very very helpful.. As were all of the staff. A bit of a language barrier with some staff, but with our broken Spanish and their broken English it was totally fine! Restaurant is not that great for lunch or dinner, but ok for pool food. Lastly, be careful walking down the steps near the front desk. They are designed for aesthetics.... probably not to code by US standards. I fell while we were leaving and ended up with a sprained ankle back home.
